True Botanicals names Jessica Chastain brand ambassador

Clean skincare brand True Botanicals has named American actress Jessica Chastain as a brand ambassador. 

“Jessica is a powerful, sophisticated and principled tastemaker who has been a sustainability advocate and vegan for more than 15 years. Those shared values around safety for humans, animals and the planet are what brought Jessica and True Botanicals together for this partnership,” said True Botanicals in a statement on social media.

In this role, Chastain will be the face of the brand's new Phyto Retinol Sleep Serum. The serum uses plant-based alternative Peptilium, recognized for reducing wrinkles without causing irritation to the skin.

In particular, the brand will unveil billboards in Los Angeles, Seattle and New York as part of the collaboration, as well as TV and streaming commercials on Peacock, Hulu and Paramount+.

Chastain was a recurring guest star in several television series, including Law & Order: Trial by Jury, and has equally starred in films including Interstellar, Zero Dark Thirty, Molly’s Game and more. Her roles have garnered an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, in addition to nominations for two British Academy Film Awards.

She joins True Botanicals just 9-months since closing a Series B investment from San Francisco-based growth equity firm NextWorld Evergreen. True Botanicals is expected to use the funding to grow its retail footprint, while advancing its mission around social and environmental impact. 

The company's Series A round was led by Sonoma Brands Capital in partnership with Unilever Ventures, which supported the brand's growth over the last few years.
