Thiam quits Kering board to focus on Ivory Coast politics

Former Credit Suisse chief Tidjane Thiam resigned from the board of France’s Kering SA in order to focus on politics in the Ivory Coast, the company said in an e-mailed statement.

Thiam won a vote in December to lead the Democratic Party of Ivory Coast, which ruled the West African nation for decades after independence in 1960 but has been out of power since 1999.

Thiam had been an independent director at Kering since June 2020.
