Talk about reaching out in fashion. Couturier Stephane Rolland will open his next haute couture show in Paris with designs by ESMOD and IFM students.
Scheduled to be staged on Tuesday, January 23, the second day of the four-day haute couture season, which will feature Spring-Summer 2024 collections. The show will take place inside Salle Pleyel, one of the city’s most prestigious concert halls.
“This fashion show will be the occasion for a partnership (born of Stéphane Rolland's desire to perpetuate the know-how and pass it on to new generations) between the Couture House and the Parisian fashion schools ESMOD and IFM,” the house said in a release.
Both based in Paris, ESMOD and IFM are two well-known third level fashion colleges.
Rolland has gained a worthy reputation for unexpected show formats. He held one couture show on the stage of the Théâtre du Châtelet, while his most recent runway display was an epic event inside the Palais Garnier, during which veteran filmmaker Claude Lelouch shot scenes for his next movie.
“Around twenty students, coached by Stéphane Rolland during the first quarter in the form of Master classes, will have the opportunity to present their work as the first part of the fashion show, giving them a first contact with professionals and the public,” underlined the house of Rolland in its communiqué.
