Snipes: CEO Sven Voth hands over the reins to Dennis Schröder
Musical chairs at Snipes: Sven Voth is stepping down as CEO of the Cologne-based sneaker and streetwear chain. Voth is handing over the reins with immediate effect to Dennis Schröder, who has been general manager of the company since April 2023.
Dennis Schröder will be responsible for the international retailer's overall activities.
Sven Voth will remain with the company as its founder, and during a two-year transition period will focus on expansion, wholesale, product trends and innovations, cooperation and the US business. All this before moving to an advisory role on January 1, 2026. Jim Bojko will continue to manage the US business as president of Snipes USA.
"As founder and long-time CEO, Sven Voth has shaped Snipes for more than 25 years and positioned it uniquely in terms of strategy. He has made Snipes what it is today. In my new role, I look forward to continuing the story of this great company," said Schröder, who now chairs the executive directors' committee.
Last year, the retailer appointed three additional executive directors: Schröder, Peter Buse (COO) and Daniel Bontjer (CRO), as well as Tim Spickenbom (CFO) and Sven Voth.
Voth had already sold the majority shares in Snipes SE to the Deichmann Group in 2011. After buying up the remaining shares, Voth, who founded the company in 1998 in Essen, had developed it over the years into a multi-billion dollar group with more than 750 shops in 12 countries.
"Snipes is my life's work and will always be a part of me. I feel that the time has come to pass on the baton and Dennis Schröder has already, in a very short space of time, gained the recognition of all his colleagues within the company", says the former CEO. "He brings with him a wealth of retail and brand experience, and in a very short space of time has already significantly enriched the company with his skills and ideas."
