Men's trade shows and showrooms join forces in New York
Some of the trade shows and showrooms dedicated to Spring/Summer 2024 men's collections already made their moves in the Big Apple on Friday, but the real action is set to start this Tuesday.
With an aim to navigate the complexities of the market, industry players have decided to join forces this season. A total of 13 trade shows and showrooms have come together and established the United Men's Fashion Association.
UMFA is a group of industry veterans who are passionate about revitalizing the men's fashion market in the United States. Their primary mission is to make this week in New York a must-attend event for all professionals in the sector, aiming to reclaim New York City as a central hub for men's fashion and its surrounding community. According to the signatories' letter of intent, they plan to achieve this by "bringing together the best salons, showrooms, and brands to share events, calendars, and resources, with the goal of creating a more cohesive, productive, and inspiring market for everyone involved."
These industry players intend to offer a series of events and increase the visibility of Men's Fashion Week by implementing joint communication efforts and providing a comprehensive plan to navigate the city and its various locations.
The initiative brings together Peregrine Showroom, We United, The Good Six, Westerlind, J Squared Group, Bloodworth & Co, Synergy Showroom, Leary Forteau Agency, Black Dog Agency, as well as the Project and Society for International Menswear trade shows. It also includes well-known European players such as Welcome Edition from the UK and the French Man salon by Antoine Floch.
The launch event for this collaboration will take place on July 18 at the top of the building that houses the Man salon, located at 50 Varick Street in Spring Studios.
