Converse enlists Martine Ali, Isabel Marant, and Feng Chen Wang to revamp Chuck Taylor All Star
For the redesign of its iconic Chuck Taylor All Star sneaker, American brand Converse, a part of the Nike group, has engaged three creative minds: Brooklyn-based jewelry and accessory designer Martine Ali, French fashion designer Isabel Marant, and London-based Chinese fashion label Feng Chen Wang.
Ali leads the unveiling with the Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge, introduced on December 1. Drawing inspiration from the hip-hop culture of the late '90s and early 2000s, Ali's shoe features an EVA foam wedge sole and an asymmetrical square toe. Inspired by thigh-high boots, this model offers two styles, with and without gaiters.
Priced at 160 euros, the Converse x Martine Ali Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge is available on Converse.com and select retailers.
Isabel Marant's and Feng Chen Wang's designs, the latter of whom recently collaborated with Crocs, will be unveiled in early 2024.
