Burberry Streets tour reaches New York

It kicked off in London during Fashion Month, later moving to Seoul and Shanghai, and now Burberry’s Streets initiative has hit one of the world’s key shopping cities — New York — opening on Friday and running until 16 November.

It’s offering some of the same ideas from the previous cities as well as unique-to-NYC features.

Particularly notable is the opening of the Knight Bar – a temporary takeover of Temple Bar in NoHo. For seven days, the bar will be decorated in a new red check and serve a menu curated by Norman’s — the North London café renowned for its British dishes and that has been a star attraction of the previous Streets stopovers.

Neighbouring the Knight Bar in NoHo will also be a “unique window installation that draws inspiration from a London street, decorated in the new red check, bringing a touch of Britishness to the city”.

The company said the Knight Bar “takes inspiration from Burberry’s past and present, celebrating the launch of the Knight bag by Daniel Lee for Winter 2023 and the newly refreshed Equestrian Knight Design – an icon of the house since 1901”.

As mentioned, the Streets initiative began in London and coincided with the city’s fashion week. It saw a number of street takeovers and even saw Bond Street tube station temporarily renamed Burberry Street.
