Bijorhca trade show to kick off on September 2 in Paris
International jewellery trade show Bijorhca, now organised by WSN, will be held at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre in Paris on September 2-4, in parallel with Who's Next. The event will showcase some 170 exhibitors, among them well-established names like Philippe Ferrandis, Satellite Paris, Taratata and Uno de 50. About 60 jewellery brands will be exhibiting for the first time.
The event’s three days will also feature a rich conference programme. The two talks scheduled on Saturday are ‘Design: creativity between freedom and constraints,’ and ‘Developing a physical retail network thanks to digital tools.’ On Sunday, the topic will be how to protect original designs from cyber-attacks. On the last day, Bijorhca will host a round-table debate on how the jewellery industry can reinvent itself by adopting an entrepreneurial approach. On the panel, Priscilla Jokhoo, head of the emerging brands programme at Francéclat, an organisation that promotes expansion initiatives for the French jewellery, watches and tableware sectors.
For the 150th anniversary of French jewellery industry association BOCI, which represents the costume and fine jewellery sectors and owns the Bijorhca brand, the show will also host an exhibition entitled ‘The Golden Age of Designer Jewellers 1960-2000’, displaying some 60 creations by the top jewellery designers from this highly creative period.
Finally, the final-year students of the Boulle applied arts school will present their graduation work.
