Anca Marola appointed global chief digital officer at Sephora
Starting February 12, Anca Marola will step into the position of new global chief digital officer at Sephora. Within the selective perfumery division of the LVMH group, she will work under the leadership of Guillaume Motte, CEO of Sephora, and will succeed Marc Abergel. Abergel had been appointed as global chief digital officer in February 2022, a newly established position at the time.
"I am convinced that, thanks to her experience leading the LVMH data center of excellence, Anca will help us significantly in strengthening our great internal digital community, accelerating value creation through an ambitious data strategy, and enhancing our customers' omnichannel experience," detailed Guillaume Motte in an internal communication obtained by FashionNetwork.com.
Marola began her career in 2012 in consulting and consumer studies at GFK, where she worked for groups such as L’Oréal and Coca-Cola. In June 2013, she joined LVMH, entering the digital department, where she supported the digital transformation of various houses within the group. By 2014, her responsibilities expanded to include business intelligence and customer experience, before becoming the head of data for the LVMH group in October 2021.
In this role, she worked on consolidating the data strategy of the group, implementing analytics and artificial intelligence throughout the group's value chain, from media and e-commerce to retail and the supply chain.
In 2022, according to industry experts, Sephora reportedly achieved a turnover of 12 billion euros, making it the second-largest brand in LVMH's portfolio behind Louis Vuitton (20 billion euros).
